Carlene is committed to making a difference in her community by increasing sickle cell awareness. 

On January 25, 2014, Carlene gave an inspirational speech based on the theme of The Wizard of Oz.

On July 24, 2016, Carlene was the guest speaker at the South Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Woman’s Day program.
